Our cruise route

French canal map Gascony region

Rosa's cruise route is the beautiful Canal de Garonne between Bordeaux and Toulouse in Southwest France, featuring the best that Gascony has to offer. Visit historic fortified "bastides", stunning countryside views, village markets, learn more about our rural culture, and cruise by picturesque old villages and quaint farms.

The cruise route also requires your captain to negotiate the amazing inclined water plane at Montech and the 1000-foot aqueduct over the Tarn River at Moissac.

The canal was built in the 19th century and connects Toulouse to Castets-en-Dorthe where it runs into the Garonne River.

Excursions

Your tour guide will take you on daily excursions, to visit the attractions that define the area, a chance to envelop yourself in the art, history and culture of the region. The tour guide's expertise is only matched by that of your master chef who, with his extraordinary meals, will help you explore the gastronomy, wine and other products typical of our region.

Food and wine

Rosa's itineraries include tastings of foie gras, local fine wines and Armagnac, together with guided tours of the places where they are produced. Of course, as our cruises are near Bordeaux wine country, there will be plenty of opportunity to sample a part of France where good food and wine is a way of life.
